Posted By: How May I Help You NC on November 20, 2014 Eastern Illinois University Assistant Athletic Trainer Position Vacancy Notice Applications are being requested for an entry level assistant athletic trainer position at Eastern Illinois University. The position is a full-time, 12-month position to assist the Head Athletic Trainer in developing, coordinating, and administering a comprehensive athletic training program including complete health care for all student-athletes in 21 Division I sports (FCS football). Requirements include, but not limited to, team coverage and administrative duties related to the day-to-day operations of the athletic training facilities. Primary sport responsibilities will be assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer with potential sport coverage(s) to include but not limited to: Softball and Women’s Volleyball. The person in this position will serve as an ACI for students in a CAATE accredited undergraduate degree program. The position will require work and travel during evening hours, weekends and some holidays with the assigned teams, including being on campus early mornings and/or late evenings for practice as necessary. Additionally, the Athletic Trainer is expected to be on-call for student athletes' or coaches' needs. The Head Athletic Trainer and Athletic Administration may assign additional duties. Qualifications include the following: Bachelor’s degree required, Masters preferred; NATABOC certification and eligible for Illinois athletic training license are required; significant experience beyond post-graduate work preferred. Preference will be given for experience working in Division I athletics and working with a diverse athlete population including both men’s and women’s sports.
