The looting and rioting is not being done, particularly, by those who live there. The majority are folks from other areas who have traveled there to TAKE advantage of the situation. I get that people are angry. They feel powerless and pushed to the limit. This country, the US States of America, through its JUDICIARY SYSTEM has proven (confirmed) once again that the life of a black person (African American) in particularly our males is not valued. But history often repeats itself! The history of this country has proven to us countless times that minorities are not valued. Like any and everything else, those within positions of power within the world have placed a value system on all its resources to include the human race. With that said, a hierarchy of importance and acceptance in how people are valued has been in existence for years. Long before I was born! And yet many of us still seem to be surprised! Why?

As a black female living in the Washington Metropolitan Area all my life, I have felt the disparaging impact of hatred looming in the world. The pain of being limited on the basis of my race, gender and lack of influential high society status runs deeper than you will ever know or could imagine. I have been discriminated against not just on the basis of color, but on the basis of my gender by those who want me to believe that I am the weaker sex because I am a woman. Or that my only value as a woman is to pleasure men. I have even experienced being looked down upon because I lack interest in high fashion or designer wear. In open toe shoes, I see frowns and smirks because my toe nails are not polished. And not having any hair thus resulting from a medical diagnosis since age 14 has stirred up a lot of controversy and unwanted stares. For one reason or another, we, unfortunately, single out one another unjustly and superficially with such cruelty in our hearts. In my opinion, “racism” is but one underlined problem! And still the world stands!

It is important for us “all” to see ourselves not as our fellow man sees us, but as our CREATOR sees us! We must not direct misplaced anger where it does more damage or harm. God keeps telling me to hold on! For how long I say. And He says “just a little while longer.” To me a little while is just that … a little while. A little while longer for us to continue to destroy one another on the basis of our value system called ignorance. Nonetheless, God keeps extending to us – MERCY AND GRACE – to get it right and we keep insisting on being inhuman.

EPHESIANS ~ 4 I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, 3 eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit—just as you were called to the one hope that belongs to your call— 5 one Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. 7 But grace was given to each one of us according to the measure of Christ’s gift. 8 Therefore it says, “When he ascended on high he led a host of captives, and he gave gifts to men.” In saying, “He ascended,” what does it mean but that he had also descended into the lower regions, the earth? 10 He who descended is the one who also ascended far above all the heavens, that he might fill all things.) 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ, 13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to mature manhood, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ, 14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, 16 from whom the whole body, joined and held together by every joint with which it is equipped, when each part is working properly, makes the body grow so that it builds itself up in love. 17 Now this I say and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer walk as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds. 18 They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.

HOLD ON! God sees all! The first will be last and the last will be first! Pray without ceasing!

A SPECIAL NOTE - heard on 11/23/2014 and shared with you today: What if things are purposely set in motion involving the negativity of others as directed at you as a lesson not necessarily for you, but as a test for those who have committed the bad deed against you? Boy, have they failed miserably! So, if you must get angry then do so peacefully in not allowing your anger to cause you to sin. Everything has its place and purpose! [15 A gullible person believes anything, but a sensible person watches his step. 16A wise person is cautious and turns away from evil, but a fool is careless and overconfident. 17A short-tempered person acts stupidly, and a person who plots evil is hated. 18 Gullible people are gifted with stupidity, but sensible people are crowned with knowledge. 19 Evil people will bow to good people. Wicked people will bow at the gates of a righteous person. ~ Proverbs 14]

Sincerely,

Ann Gwen Mack
