The incumbent works with a wide variety of staff and interview subjects throughout the University including internal departments such as the Office of News and Public Affairs and University Advancement as well as faculty, administrators, and students. Works with external media outlets to ensure the delivery of requested video clips. Contacts external vendors on matters related to equipment repair and maintenance. This position supervises and deploys Communications students. The Video Producer is expected to effectively communicate scheduling conflicts and changes in project timeframes to ensure that client areas are aware of workflow issues/conflicting priorities, and resolve technical issues using available resources. Requirements Requirements: This position requires a Bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism, cinematography, media production, or related field required and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in media production, including cinematography or video experience. Previous higher education or sales and marketing experience desirable. Must have: * Experience shooting with professional grade high definition (HD) digital cameras, including digital single-lens reflex cameras. (DSLRs). * Experience with audio recording techniques and lighting for television production * Ability to manage multiple projects successfully, working in a fast-paced, highly collaborative environment * Demonstrate visual creativity * Be energetic, creative, innovative and a team-player -Knowledge of video editing software, (i.e., Final Cut Pro, AVID, After Effects) and proficient in Color and Pro Tools -Familiarity with posting digital media online -Excellent communication and project management skills -A background in basic cinematography is a plus The employee must be available for evenings and weekends and must be able to carry video production equipment, tripod, etc. Closing Statement Boston College conducts background checks as part of the hiring process.
