Posted By: C H on December 27, 2014 WeAllBe selected Bobby Rush as the recipient of the 2014 Jimmy Lunceford Legacy Award. The tribute could have not gone to a deserving candidate. Bobby Rush is also nominated for a 2014 Grammy Award for Best Blues Album. As a Christmas gift, I personal got the opportunity to speak with this phenomenal individual. Bobby Rush is truly his brother’s keeper and believes in giving back to his community. He believes that it is ones duty to teach the young legacies and others the path to becoming successful. Bobby Rush is very accessible and he wants the young and others to have the knowledge and skills needed for them to become the best he or she can become. To talk to him on a one on one is divine and truly an honor. In that conversation, I learned a lifetime of information and confirmation. I look forward to working with him and his philosophies in the future. Bobby Rush is more than a musician; he is a legacy that will be remembered throughout time. I salute him and wish him well in all his endeavors. I thank him for being one of the inspirations in my son’s life and knowing that history must be recorded for others to learn.
