This play the workshop is poignant witty extraordinary funny drama about the African American experience to define black identity, process social and political events as they play out in a writer’s workshop in an artist’s café.

Alice Crowe began writing The Workshop in 2009, as a member of the Frank Silvera Writer’s Workshop led by the late Garland Lee Thompson, Sr. in Harlem. Crowe cultivated her love for black theater and gained experience working with a diverse group of playwrights.

The cast of the play are a group of New York actors. Jim Willis, as George, Brenda Pettit, as Queenie, Tiffany C. Williams as Phoenix, Steve Allen, as Supa Dome, Allen Jenkins, as Sage, Myriam Moss, as Sarah and a Jazz vocalist, Alicia Crowe, Alice’s identical twin sister.
