Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 12, 2015 Director – Administrative Business Service Center (posting S115PO) The University of Vermont is seeking a qualified individual to provide management oversight and leadership of complex administrative functions and business operations of the University’s Administrative Business Service Center (ABSC). The successful candidate will manage teams of professional and support staff members who provide analytical and transactional services to University officers, managers, supervisors and staff in all areas of the University. Develop and sustain a business service center culture that incorporates positive change management approaches. Collaborate with departments and ABSC staff members to design business processes that will support advancement of the University of Vermont goals and objectives. Develop working partnerships with customer units (administrative, academic, and central offices); act as liaison to central administrative offices and to the University Business Advisors. This position reports to the Vice President for Finance and Treasurer. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field and seven years related experience required. Must be capable of innovation, vision and possess the ability to effectively institute change. Demonstrated financial responsibility and comprehensive knowledge of accounting, financial reporting and analysis, strategic planning and resource allocation, and creativity and effectiveness in a complex organization. Understanding of financial internal control concepts and the implementation of internal control systems required. Demonstrated ability to participate and actively manage change in a business environment. Managerial, decision-making, planning, organizational, problem-resolution and leadership skills. Demonstrated ability to manage and develop people on a day to day basis, inspire a high level of commitment and performance, and manage relationships and influence outcomes. Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external constituents. Advanced computer proficiency including ERP and Excel software applications required.
