Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 12, 2015 Summary: The Director of Operations and Finance is responsible for ensuring that our school team has the resources and support that it needs to be successful in providing our scholars with the best education possible. Working closely with the rest of the Leadership Team, the Director of Operations and Finance will ensure that both our school-wide systems and our resource allocation adequately serve the needs of our academic program. This is the work that when done effectively eliminates delays, miscommunication and disorganization, freeing up time and energy for everyone in the building (including our scholars) to perform at peak levels. The responsibilities for the Director of Operations and Finance will include, but not be limited to: Budget and Finance • Oversee school financial controls, update and ensure compliance with fiscal policies and procedures • Develop and manage school operational and capital budgets • Prepare and present monthly financial statements Management and Leadership • Lead School Operations team • Actively serve on School Leadership Team • Managing multiple direct reports School Operations • Develop, document and train staff in school-wide and classroom operational systems and procedures • Manage all calendars, staff schedules, space and resource assignments • Oversee school safety systems and initiatives • Plan and oversee school-wide events like Expedition Night and Family Orientations • Manage contracts for student services including transportation, nutrition, uniforms • Oversee logistics for standardized testing (interim assessments, state exams, diagnostic tests) • Conduct annual revisions to the school’s Operations Manual • Work with HR provider to oversee systems for staff benefits and other HR needs. Facilities • Support school culture by managing signage and appearance of facility to ensure it best reflects school values • Oversee setup of new facilities space (slated to be complete Fall of 2016) to ensure a smooth transition to expanded facility Student Data • Collect, analyze and report on student academic and nonacademic data for internal and external constituents. Compliance • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and manage checklist of compliance items for the MA DESE. Technology and Communications • Oversee technology and communications infrastructure and support throughout the school Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
