Los Angeles -  Co-Founders of The PAN AFRICAN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL Ayoka Babu and actress Ja'Net DuBois best known for her work on the 1970's hit series "Good Times" closed their 23rd Pan African-American Film Festival  Monday February 16, 2015 after an amazing week of pageantry that showcased art, music, and film culture from across the African diaspora. The festival which was held from February 5-16, 2015, at the RAVE CINEMA and Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza is the largest Black History Month event in the United States. With the selection of the incomparable actor, humanitarian, author, and philanthropist HILL HARPER serving as this year's CELEBRITY AMBASSADOR, the tone was set and film aficionados were more than inspired to attend this year's star studded festival. Movie goers, art lovers, and historians of black culture were saturated with non stop events that served as lightening rods for varied discussions including but not limited to the Black Panther Movement, Ferguson, Filmmaking and Distribution, and other topics that have a direct impact on the black community.

With over 100 films screened at this years festival, Director Stanley Nelson led the charge and opened the festival with his film THE BLACK PANTHERS: VANGUARD OF THE REVOLUTION which was the west coast premiere of this highly anticipated feature.

TRIANGLE GOING TO AMERICA served as the Centerpiece selection, and THE MAN IN 3B served as the closing night film. One of the many  highlights from this year's PAN  AFRICAN AMERICAN FILM FESTIVAL WAS A CONVERSATION WITH ACTOR  DENZEL WASHINGTON! Moderated by Director Carl Franklin  (Devil in a Blue Dress) the legendary actor spoke candidly about his career and the direction of new media in the 21st century.
