Miss Black New York USA 2015 Kade Henderson Crowned in New York City
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on February 27, 2015

Kade Henderson was crowned Miss Black New York City USA 2015. Kade Henderson, 21, Rochester, New York native, fashion entrepreneur, and Fashion Institute of Technology alumni holds the current reign.

Kade’s acceptance of the highly-prized crown is just the beginning of a journey that will take her to every corner of the nation during her year of service as Miss Black New York USA 2015. She will embark on her speaking tour about her platform, Perfecting Your Voice: Protecting Arts and Wellness in Education and act as the official Miss Black New York USA ambassador. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit corporation in the state of Maryland. The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc., was founded in 1986 by Karen Arrington.

Kade is a Fashion Merchandise Management graduate of Fashion Institute of Technology. The epitome of a millennium tastemaker, her passion as a fashion entrepreneur is inspired by encouraging fashion conscious individuals to develop a sense of personal style and embracing everything about self. Kade freelances and consults in digital merchandising, product development, and image consulting as a business owner of Kades Mode.

Raised in Rochester, New York and Hartford, Connecticut, limited discretionary income sparked her love of fashion. A victim of bullying, and homelessness Kade navigated her younger years fighting to share her story on the growing conversation of enhancing creativity and arts throughout education and higher education. During her year as Miss Black New York USA 2015, she will serve as spokesperson for education and wellness as she travels and advocate throughout her reign. This august Kade will compete for the Miss Black USA 2015 title in Washington, D.C. August 5th-9th, 2015.

The Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc provides young African American women with a vehicle to further their personal and professional goals and instills a spirit of community service through a variety of nationwide community-based programs. As the game changer on the conversation of how African American women are portrayed in media, Miss Black USA Pageant and Scholarship Foundation, Inc partners with the Heart Truth Campaign, National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, and Mother Africa where a library is named in her honor at the New Yorudum Lower Basic Primary School.
