Fisk University Board of Trustees Names New Members

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on June 03, 2015 The Fisk University Board of Trustees named Patty Litton Delony, Cynthia R. McIntyre, and Rashaun Williams to the Board during its recent meetings.
McIntyre serves, by invitation of the South Africa Minister of Science and Technology, on the advisory committee for cyberinfrastructure. Previously, she served on the Board of Trustees for Spelman College (2003-2009) and was a member of the Governing Board of the American Physical Society. Currently, she serves on the External Advisory Committee of the National High Magnetic Field Laboratory, at Florida State University. Dr. McIntyre holds a doctorate in physics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and was a Bunting Fellow at Harvard University. Rashaun Williams, a Founding Partner of the venture capital fund, Queensbridge Venture Partners, and of the investment banking firm, VCap Investment Group, was also named a board member at the May meeting. Mr. Williams has spent his career as an investor, investment banker, and institutional salesman in the capital markets departments of bulge bracket firms. Primarily responsible for bringing capital to emerging, diverse, and alternative markets, he managed clients with assets-under-management of $5 billion or more while at Goldman Sachs, Wachovia Securities, and Deutsche Bank. In 2007, he founded Dixsville Partners, a private equity fund investing in infrastructure development and mineral companies in West Africa. Mr. Williams has successfully started, invested in, and exited several companies internationally. He will utilize his expertise to increase fundraising and the overall financial strength of Fisk University. He is currently a Registered Securities Principal and Financial Advisor, holding FINRA licenses 3, 7, 24, and 63, enabling him to sell public and private debt and equity to retail and institutional clients. Since 2001, Mr. Williams has also been a founding member of The Kemet Institute, a non-profit whose aim is to provide free financial literacy, entrepreneur, and life-skills classes to under-served communities and schools.
