FDIC: Service that Counts
|
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 22, 2015 As one of the most respected forces in America's financial community, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) offers unlimited opportunities for career advancement. Our mission is to maintain stability and public confidence in the nation's financial system by insuring deposits, examining and supervising financial institutions, and managing receiverships. FDIC is currently ranked first among mid-sized Federal Government employers as the "Best Place to Work" for effective leadership, match of employee skills to mission, pay, strategic management, and training and development. Great Careers Begin with the CEP! How would you like to use your skills to service your country while enjoying competitive pay and benefits? The Financial Institution Specialist (FIS) position in the Corporate Employee Program (CEP) is a comprehensive, 3-4 year training opportunity, leading to professional designation as a commissioned bank examiner or resolutions/receivership specialist. The entry-level training program includes one year of structured rotational assignments, followed by up to three years of specialized training in one of the FDIC's principal disciplines: (1) Risk Management (to evaluate the financial condition of insured institutions); (2) Compliance/Consumer Protection (to ensure compliance with fair lending, consumer protection, and community reinvestment statutes and regulations); or (3) Resolutions/Receivership Management (to oversee the closure of failed financial institutions and management of the ensuing receiverships). The FDIC expects to fill at least 125 new FIS positions at locations around the country in 2016. Those positions are open to college and university students and recent graduates with majors in economics, accounting, finance, business administration, and related fields, and an overall grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.95. FDIC offers outstanding opportunities to advance your career. Generous compensation. We offer a highly competitive pay and benefits package that often exceeds those offered by private sector and other government agencies. Work/life balance. FDIC offers reasonable work hours, flexible work schedules, and telework opportunities to help you achieve a fulfilling life. Professional development. We offer a dynamic work environment and challenging responsibilities to advance your career. Serve your nation. FDIC professionals take part in mission-critical work that promotes the safety and soundness of our nation's banks and the national economy. Travel. Many of our professionals, especially our bank examiners, spend a lot of time on the road, meeting new people and undertaking important challenges. Diversity. At the FDIC, you have the chance to learn from and interact with people from different backgrounds and cultures. We embrace differences and are committed to a culture of mutual respect. Highly competitive benefits. FDIC employees receive comprehensive benefits that include health, life, and dental insurance, paid vacation time, flexible spending and 401(k) savings accounts, and enrollment in the Federal Employee Retirement System.
If you are interested in this opportunity, apply online at the following web site by November 24, 2015: https://www.fdic.gov/about/jobs/servicethatcounts.html. The best qualified applicants will be invited to Washington D.C. for interviews at FDIC’s expense during the week of January 25-30, 2016.
