CHILL MOODY ONE OF THE HOTTEST LYRICISTS TO COME OUT OF PHILLY IN YEARS DROPS HOT SINGLE "NOVEMBER FUNK"
Posted By: LaMarr Blackmon on July 08, 2015 About Chill Moody“A life dedicated, to them never saying I never made it!” What started out as a bar in a verse has become sort of a mantra for Chill Moody. The young aspiring hip-hop artist prides himself on being one of the top lyricists to hit Philadelphia in years.
After Chill Moody graduated from Overbrook High School in Philadelphia he attended Millersville University where he honed his craft of creating what he feels is “authentic hip-hop music.” In February Chill released his first independent album “RFM” (Running From Myself) which debuted in the top 100 on the iTunes hip-hop chart. This led to a performing at the Apple Store in SoHo (NY) on Feb, 21, 2013. The first official video from RFM (RFMintro) premiered on MTV Jams on Feb, 25th 2013, and subsequently debuted on MTV networks in nine other countries the following month. As of November 2013, three videos from RFM (RFMintro, Chains, Change Coming featuring Freeway) have been premiered on MTV Jams. Chill closed out 2012 by selling out his first headlining show at Philadelphia Theatre of Living Arts (TLA), and kicked off 2013 in the same fashion, by selling out Philadelphia’s Hard Rock Cafe in March. In 2012, he performed at the 5th Annual Roots Picnic and received praise from billboard.com for his “show stealing” performance. In the same year he was also named by Complex Magazine (complex.com) as one of the top 10 up-and-coming artists in Philadelphia. In the fall of 2012 Chill put on a concert at the Philadelphia landmark Love Park in celebration of the success of his “Who Do You Love” album (collaborative album with singer Beano and producer Hank McCoy), he also made history by being the first hip hop artist to have a concert at Philadelphia’s City Hall courtyard. In June 2013, Chill was nominated for an MTV "O Music Award" (online music award) in the "Make A Band Famous" category, he also performed at the award show in Times Square (NYC). July 4th 2013 Chill Headlined the "Questlove Stage" at the Wawa Welcome To America festival in Philadelphia. October 2013 Chill headlined the Philly2A3C stage at the A3C hiphop festival in Atlanta. contact Chill Moody @ChillMoody (Twitter) ChillMoodyBeats@gmail.com (Email) If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
