Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on September 03, 2015 To all the site readers, we seek your help. Earl Francis Lloyd (1928-2015) was the first African American to play in the NBA for the Washington Capitols in 1950. Subsequently, he was also the first African American to both win an NBA Championship (1955) and first full-time bench coach for the Detroit Pistons in 1972. He was a pioneer and his groundbreaking achievements helped to pave the way for people of color and all minorities. You can help in the cause by signing a petition that is started on Change.org. By signing the petition, you can be an influential peice in getting this passed and approved. We hope that you are able to take a few seconds to click the link below and sign the petition. It is of no cost to you and again, it only takes a few seconds out of your time at the computer or on your smartphone. In addition, you can write writing a letter to the P.O. Stamp Committee and encourage others to do the same. Letters carry a lot of weight in this process. 5,000 letters need to be received in order to be considered. See below address.
