The Alabama Statewide Step Show Weekend
|
Posted By: Lester Young on March 24, 2005 It'sthe 24th edition of the Alabama Statewide Step Show Weekend. We start on Friday, April 8th with the "Statewide Midnite Pajama Jam," for all college students and their guests. It's hosted by Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, and will take place in the Lockhart Gymnasium on the ASU campus in Montgomery, AL. Time is 10 p.m. until 3 a.m. and you must have a valid college I.D. Then on Saturday, April 9, 2005, in the glorious Joe L. Reed Acadome on the ASU campus. It's the Alabama Statewide Step Show. We invite you to come and see this show for yourself. Tickets go on sale at all Ticket Master outlets on March 28, 2005. The theme for this year's show is "A Showcase For The Devine Nine." For those of you in other states who would like to have a "Statewide" show come to your campus, give me a call at (256) 658-8135. We'll let you know what the requirements are, and will do everything within our power to make the show happen for your state. Vendors: This show averages 7,000 people, so this is where you want to be. ASU handles all vendor requests, which should be in writing to the Acadome if you are serious about making money. Contact The Joe L. Reed Acadome, Alabama State University, Attn: James Parker 915 South Jackson Street Montgomery, Al 36101. The phone number is (334) 229-4529 and ask for Rita for more information. Competition in The Alabama Statewide Step Show is only open to Alabama Greek-Letter organizations. The prize money for this year's competition is beyond $8,500. However, your team may be able to step in exhibition, which pays a $350.00 appearance/talent fee. Teams from Atlanta, Nashville, Jackson, MS, or the Carolinas...come show us how you do it.
