Not just hiring developers: Alonzo Barber brings legal experience and naval background to Microsoft

A graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and former senior counsel for Black Entertainment Television (BET), Barber is currently an attorney in Microsoft’s Legal and Corporate Affairs Group (LCA). Now he’s working to bring other talented military veterans to Microsoft to fill both technical and corporate positions. “With a company like Microsoft, and with any tech company, when I go to the career fairs people say the same thing: They’re shocked that there’s any role in the company other than coders, other than developers,” Barber says. “Changing that perception is equally as important for Microsoft as changing the perception of folks in the military, thinking that all you can do is navy logistics.” Continued: http://military.microsoft.com/2015/09/not-...
