Cardinal Health named again to Working Mother 100 Best Companies
|
Posted By: Will Moss on November 12, 2015 Working Mother magazine named Cardinal Health to its 2015 Working Mother 100 Best Companies list, which honors employers that set the standard for work-life practices in the U.S. This is the fourth consecutive year the company has made the list. "These companies are committed to serving their most precious resource, their employees," says Jennifer Owens, Working Mother Media editorial director. "They are asking tough questions and challenging themselves to be family friendly in an era of 24/7 global work." To compile the list, which is now in its thirtieth year, Working Mother surveyed about 200 companies with more than 500 questions. Companies responded to questions about their leave policies, workforce representation, benefits, childcare, advancement programs, and flexibility policies, among other things — as well as the availability, usage, and tracking of these programs. “Thirty years is an important milestone, and we are happy to honor it,” said Owens. “What was once cutting edge is now essential. Today, more than two million people work at a Best Company. It’s a lot, but it’s a drop in the bucket when you consider that our nation is home to 24 million working mothers — 70 percent of moms with kids under age 18 are employed.” In its profile of Cardinal Health, Working Mother said, “Maximizing income is a concern for everyone these days. This health care services company addresses that by providing its employees with subsidized gym memberships and backup care, free retirement seminars, college tuition aid guidance, and financial incentives that encourage health and well-being (78 offices also have ‘healthy lifestyles champions’).” To submit your resume to Cardinal Health visit www.hbcuconnect.com/cardinalhealth If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
