I'm so worried....

I
Posted By: Courtney Lowe on January 20, 2006

Ok, ya'll I need some good advice or some kind words. I'm so worried about what is going to happen with me and college. Howard is my first choice, but I'm scared as to if I will be able to afford it or not. I sent my app in around the 8th or 9th of december, and I haven't recieved anything back from them yet. I'm afraid that I sent my app in too late to be considered for a scholarship. Spelman was my second choice, but they are considering me for regular decision instead of the early action I'd applied for.

If I don't get any money for college, I'll have to stay here in cleveland and go to the local college that my mom works for, cuz i can go free. it's a good school (case western reserve university), but the fact that i'll be here and so close to my parents w/o branching out and being on my own kills me.

What should i do? i was told by friends that i need to stop worrying, b/c my grades a really good, and i should be considered for scholarships, but this whole thing is stressing me out!

yea i agree with Korene, don't worry so much. Same happened to me with Howard, I just got my acceptance letter Jan. 4 and i applied in October. Administration is a bit overwhelmed, but have faith gurl! All us future Bison have gone through it, and we're praying for you, so just have faith and u should be ok. Prime example: since im from GA and we get Hope, my parents said they would only pay for me to go 2 skool in GA. But Howard is my dream, so i applied, and freaked out bout payin, li u are, lol. But it all worked out, i got the Legacy scholarship, and admissions/ financial aid/ Rotc email me, make sure im doing good. So hold on if Howard is your dream, it can and will come true if u HAVE FAITH. hope this is helpful, and if u have any questions, financial, or whatever, or just need to talk, im here. Wishing u all the Bison love in da world, ~Niko~

I am meant there is no reason to stress, if there is a will there is a way for you to go I meant it it always financial options out thers. Would you rather worry about a Black school that you know are willin to work together and help eachother out than a white and havin the white to tell you you aren't good enough count your blessing it will come true.
