Posted By: How May I Help You NC on March 24, 2016 As a Senior Tax Accountant, you will gain a good overall understanding of the business and apply your knowledge to improve the sales and use tax area, help defend audits, and work on special projects. In your role as a Senior Tax Accountant at Kellogg, you will be part of our success by: • Working directly with state and local tax auditors to provide supporting documents and defend tax audits • Identifying potential tax risks/opportunities and developing plans for implementation • Managing and performing special projects as needed • Acting as a key resource of questions relating to the taxability of any transaction • Training system users as necessary • Updating tax software and testing system changes • Preparing various aspects of sales and use tax compliance for the Kellogg Company and its domestic affiliates • Reviewing data for return preparation WHAT DO I NEED TO DEMONSTRATE? As well as a hunger to learn and succeed in Finance, to be considered for this position you must be able to meet the following requirements: Required: • Bachelors Degree in Finance or Accounting • Experience working directly with state and local sales and tax auditors • Develop and maintain positive working relationships both within and outside the department • Ability to focus and see difficult tasks through to completion • Work with employees at all levels of the organization • Handle multiple and sometimes conflicting priorities • Strong problem solving, analytical, and organizational skills • Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite as well as tax software • Sales and use tax experience Preferred: • One or more of the following is preferred: CPA, JD/LLM, MST, MBA • A strong technical tax background • Communicate effectively both written and verbally • Direct experience with SAP and/or Vertex Indirect Tax O Series 6.0 WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO KNOW? Some financial assistance may be available to assist with relocation. The ability to work a full shift, come to work on time, work overtime as needed and the ability to work according to the necessary schedule to meet job requirements with or without reasonable accommodation is an essential function of this position.
