‘Spring Sting’ Week Packed with Fun & Excitement for Community!
- ASU hosts a week of activities for students & the public during its first-ever “Spring Sting-16.” -
- Three-time Grammy Award winner; TV's Housewives of Atlanta star & famous gospel singer perform -
- Free & Open to the Public with Free Parking -
Alabama State University will host its first-ever “Spring Sting-2016” starting today through Saturday (April 2), which is free and open to the public. The weeklong series of events offers an opportunity for people to “ring in spring” by celebrating campus and community life through educational, social, cultural, spiritual and health and wellness activities.
A GRAMMY- AWARD WINNER; HOUSEWIVES OF ATL STAR & A FAMOUS GOSPEL SINGER

“Spring Sting” includes a public event hosted by nationally acclaimed three-time Grammy Award winning gospel singer Donnie McClurkin; a “Chat and Chew” with music and reality TV personality (Housewives of Atlanta star) Kandi Burruss, and a gospel concert featuring nationally renowned singer Deitrick Haddon. The celebration will culminate on Saturday, April 2, when the Hornet football team kicks off a spring practice at The New ASU Stadium. All of the above events are free and open to the public.

“Spring Sting” is sponsored by The Division of ASU Student Affairs, The Office of President Gwendolyn E. Boyd, The Office of Student Life, Campus Activities Board, Campus Programming Board, National Pan-Hellenic Council, The Office of Housing and Residence Life, Dr. William Ashbourne and the Music Industry students, The ASU Board of Trustees and Hot 105.7 radio station.

Monday, March 28
“Spring…Black & Gold Style” Residence Hall Lobby Decorating Contest
Decorating starts at 8 a.m., and must be complete by 5 p.m. on Thursday, March 31.



Recognition and prizes will be awarded to the best decorated male and female residence halls.

“A Campus and Community Spiritual Lecture” Grammy-Award winning singer Pastor Donnie McClurkin, senior pastor of Perfecting Faith Church.
