Posted By: How May I Help You NC on April 04, 2016 Position Title: National Director, #YesWeCode Reports to: Dream Corps Chief Executive Officer Status: Full-time, exempt Start Date: Immediately Location: Headquarter office in Oakland, CA Organizational Description #YesWeCode - an initiative of The Dream Corps- is a national initiative with a vision to help connect 100,000 low-opportunity youth to high-paying tech careers, with a focus on software development. We accomplish this through our #YesWeCode national scholarship fund and through technical assistance to school districts, postsecondary training providers and tech employers. Key Responsibilities #YesWeCode’s National Director will be responsible for overall strategy and sustainability for one of Dream Corps’ primary national initiatives. Key responsibilities include: National Partnership Engagement ● Serve as the key spokeperson for #YesWeCode on the national stage, communicating #YesWeCode’s mission and vision for tech diversity and opportunity in a dynamic manner ● Work with Dream Corps’ fund development team to steward relationships with our community of employer partners ● Build up a portfolio of media partners who will champion #YesWeCode’s mission and vision Fundraising / Resource Development ● Raise #YesWeCode’s $2.6M operational budget each year ● Work with Dream Corps’ fund development and communications team to promote and generate resources and funding in support of #YesWeCode’s opportunity pipeline strategy ● Build up #YesWeCode’s scholarship fund as part of the White House’s Tech Hire initiative Leadership / Management ● Effectively manage and coordinate #YesWeCode’s resources and partnerships within and across markets ● Supervise a diverse team of four staff members ● Support and staff #YesWeCode’s Founder, Van Jones, at special community events Strategy ● Work with Dream Corps team members to develop, execute and evaluate #YesWeCode’s national strategy ● Build and steward sustainable strategic partnerships, alliances and coalitions that align with #YesWeCode’s vision for access to tech job training development Other duties as assigned Click this link to view and apply for this job!
