CAMPUS SAFETY STATEMENT

MEMPHIS, TN (May 2, 2016) LeMoyne-Owen College is a private
institution with a zero-tolerance policy regarding weapons on campus.
The safety of our students, employees and visitors is a top priority.
Campus police confiscated a handgun from a student without incident
yesterday and immediately contacted Memphis Police per security
policy. Memphis Police arrived on scene and took the student into
custody. The College has concluded its internal investigation, expelled
the student per institution policy, and is fully cooperating with the
Memphis Police Department.
