Men’s cross country, women’s tennis teams post perfect NCAA APR scores

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on May 10, 2016 Jackson State University’s Division of Athletics continues to make strides academically, receiving recognition from the NCAA for perfect APR (Academic Progress Rates) scores in men’s cross country and women’s tennis. According to the most recent NCAA APR report released in April, 16 JSU sports teams met or exceeded NCAA standards. For the fourth straight year JSU had no teams placed in the NCAA penalty structure and all Tigers teams are eligible for post-season play. To compete in the 2016-17 postseason, teams must achieve either a 930 multi-year APR score or an average of 940 over the most recent two years. Jackson State is one of only two teams in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) to have two teams receive NCAA public recognition for perfect APR scores of 1000.
