Director - Strategy & Business Development Gexa Energy has an open position for a Director Strategy & Business Development. This position will report directly to the CEO of Gexa Energy. As we continue to grow, we need high caliber, experienced individuals to join our team. Responsibilities: • Accountable for identifying and evaluating new business opportunities, strategy development for organic growth and acquisitions, and analytical support for the existing Gexa and NextEra Energy Services businesses • Scope will include on-going interaction with corporate parent on opportunities in adjacent businesses Requirements: • Requires Bachelor’s degree and 8 years work experience in professional environment required with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in retail electricity, significant management consulting or other similar analytical experience and MBA preferred • Experience with financial, strategic, and operational considerations in a dynamic business required • Experience with electricity deregulation and familiarity with regulatory and legislative influence on competitive markets, market procedures, and market structure for retail competition preferred Manager of M&A, Corporate Finance Manager of M&A, Corporate Finance – Houston, TX (Requisition # 1601377) www.nexteraenergy.com/careers Provide support in the overall M & A evaluation process for Upstream, Midstream and Pipeline assets. This role involves providing thought leadership, constructing the analytical framework, projects execution and presenting to senior executives • Majority of time is spent evaluating either acquisition or green field development projects • Prepare financial models to analyze and value potential investments and transactions. Due diligence of acquisition opportunities to identifying risks • Provide market research, M&A analysis, market comps, liquidity analysis etc. • Support strategy development and execution • Ability to distill complex analytical issues into simple to understand analysis for management decision making • Able to present M&A analysis and deal summaries to senior management effectively and support in developing presentations for deal approvals • Comprehend, analyze, frame and resolve complex analytical problems; and communicate the key project risks to the senior management. Ability to work with little to no supervision • Work closely with cross functional teams and coordinate with SMEs to evaluate and execute M&A deals • Participate in ad hoc / special projects / report development / financial modeling Requirements: Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or Engineering; and postgraduate MBA degree and/or CPA (and/or CFA) required. At least 5 years of relevant finance experience and industry expertise (Upstream/Midstream/Pipelines) required. Qualified candidate should also have the following skills: • Experience in M&A transactions • Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills with proficiency in developing financial models and analyzing financial information/statements • Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills (both verbal and written) • Master's Degree: Preferred Paid Relocation Available!
