Posted By: Jimmie Lee Gibson Jr. on January 25, 2006 As my one year anniversary with hbcuconnect.com approaches, I decided to take a minute or two to examine my experiences with the site. As I look back, I find that I am very much happy with what I see. I've had the opportunity to interact with people from all over the country and find out what things are like in their part of the world. I've been able to share ideas, stories, jokes and my personal philosophies with the people that I've met. I can recall many days that I spent in the cafe chatroom tag-teaming with the Doc and getting the ever-lively Kuntri and always wonderful miss Elle's perspective on situations. Interactions with Darryl D Smith on his now retired column, "The Blogger". The dialogues that I continue to share with Sherita and Jackie. The kind words and sound advice of the lovely miss Amecia, Monica Brown, and Tressia Amacher. I've even had the pleasure of meeting members from the site as well as several of the excellent hbcuconnect staff. There are many people that I could name, but will not unfortunately in order to save some time. The members of the site provided a family like atmosphere and the hbcuconnect staff supplied the home filled with ample opportunities for enlightenment and advancement (although many of their services go unused).
