Vice President of Advancement: Building on its ability to offer a high-quality, affordable education, and to ensure sustained funding for scholarships and capital needs, Medgar Evers seeks a mission-driven Vice President of Advancement. Reporting directly to Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Jerald Posman, and equivalently accountable to the Medgar Evers College Educational Foundation Board, the successful candidate will create and execute a development plan, lead efforts to create new opportunities for fundraising, and expand philanthropic giving. He or she will oversee three staff members in the Office of Development and will further build a talented team. In addition to engaging the President, Provost, Deans, and faculty in fundraising activities, the Vice President of Advancement will build relationships with the Foundation Board, alumni, friends, and other stakeholders. Requirements: The ideal candidate will be a proactive and collaborative fundraiser with enthusiasm for Medgar Evers’ mission and experience. He or she will have the stature, sophistication, and interpersonal skills to build a culture of philanthropy, navigate a public, higher-education environment, and build relationships with internal and external constituents. Knowledge of the New York City philanthropic marketplace, particularly Brooklyn, is preferred. The Vice President of Advancement will report directly to Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Jerald Posman, and will be equally accountable to the Foundation Board.
