Posted By: Brittany Lester on January 25, 2006 Sun-kissed skin, Look so good it should be a sin, I feel the island breeze, As you walk past me, Close my eyes as I take in your scent, I am convinced that you were heaven sent, Skin so dark and smooth, I see no flaw in you, I see what India. Arie meant, When she praised “Brown Skin”, As I gaze into your eyes, They tell me stories very different from mine, I wonder if they can see past my mirage, Could you see the truth not as it is written, Did you know that you had me smitten, Luscious lips I allow my eyes to trace, Juicy lips that make me want a taste, Voice so deep, It makes me weak, You aren’t religious but very spiritual, I love that you respect both my body and my mental, I love the talks we have about random things, Your intellect never ceases to amaze me, I must admit I am a little scared, But not by the things that you have said, But scared because you entered my heart without askin’, Scared because with you I am unsure of what may happen, But I am anxious to see what will become of you and me With you I am willing to try anything If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
