Huntington, West Virginia - Three Morehouse School of Medicine students have been named to the 2016-2017 Universal Notes Student Editorial Panel. Chidimma Acholonu (second year), Omari Christie (second year), and Jamal Fitts (third year) were chosen from second-, third-, and fourth-year medical students around the world to participate on this panel, working side-by-side with experienced medical educators to improve medical education delivery now and for future students.

Founder and CEO Aaron McGuffin, M.D. said, "The Student Editorial Panel is the preeminent activity of Universal Notes. The opportunity to engage with such incredibly bright, energetic, and motivated students is a privilege. It is from their technological inspiration that we are able to improve the educational tool for current and future users of Universal Notes."

To date, Universal Notes has worked with 26 students from 19 different medical schools from around the world.

These students have been identified as those who have a recognized interest and skill in medical education and plan on pursuing a career path in medical education as future faculty members and leaders in their clinics and hospitals. During their tenure with Universal Notes for Medical Students, these students will participate in:
•Development of curricular content and curricular competencies
•Opportunities to work on medical education research
•Writing board-style test questions
•Providing quality improvement feedback

Universal Notes for Medical Students (www.myuniversalnotes.com) is a comprehensive online curriculum which serves as a repository of essential medical information for all four years of medical school. It includes information for over 2,000 topics that medical students should become competent with prior to graduation. It is designed to help students prepare for their course work, clinical rotations, and high-stakes exams through assessment based study of material vetted by Ph.D. and M.D. medical educators. The educational tool also contains a full question bank, patient and procedure logging, along with the ability to form study groups.
