Hampton Lacrosse builds for the future with impressive recruiting class

Posted By: Hija Chang on August 04, 2016 By Brian Simpkins The Hampton Pirates ended 2016 with incredible promise after an initial five-game lacrosse slate. Hampton coach Lloyd Carter set out on the recruiting trail in hopes to evolve a 0-5 squad to potential upsetters. Showcasing youth was the theme of HU’s inaugural recruiting class. Fourteen freshmen, a JUCO transfer from ASA College (NY), and two Division 1 transfers from St. John’s University rounded out the list. Most of the freshmen are heavily listed from Northern Virginia. National standouts, Kevin Mondy Jr. and J.P. Napier hail from non-traditional lacrosse hotbeds, Texas and Ohio respectively. Below is a list of each named recruit, class, position, hometown, and previous colleges. * Malcolm Flynn: Soph. - Defense - Wheatley Heights, NY / St. John’s University * Andrew Gray: Soph. - Defense - Lithonia, GA / St. John’s University * Kier Johnson: Junior – Midfield – Baltimore, MD / ASA College (NY) * Kevin Mondy Jr.: Freshman – Goalie – Dallas, TX * J.P.
