TSU Bowling earns academic recognition from NTCA

Posted By: Hija Chang on August 04, 2016 Contact: Andrew Roberts TSU Sports Information TSU Bowling earns academic recognition from NTCA HOUSTON- The National Tenpin Coaches Association (NTCA) has released the yearly recognition of bowling academic honors for collegiate teams across the United States. Collegiate Programs that have a cumulative team GPA of 3.2 or higher for the 2015-16 academic year are recognized. Texas Southern University's Bowling Team has been recognized as one of the 18 teams with an overall GPA of 3.3 for the 2015-16 academic year. Along with team recognition, individuals are also recognized for their academic achievements for the school year. 163 student athletes representing 32 schools were named Academic All- NTCA. Individuals with a GPA of 3.4 and higher are named for this honor. Of those 163 students, 6 student athletes from the Lady Tigers bowling team were named. Brittani Miller-Leforbes (senior), Dawn Sidney (senior), Kaelyn Lawson-Serges (junior), Jaden Takayesu (freshman), Brittany Torres (freshman), and Denisyha Waller (freshman) were all named Academic All-NTCA with a 3.4 or higher GPA for the 2015-16. "Congratulations to all the collegiate student-athletes and teams that were recognized for this honor," said TSU head coach Sabrina Rose. "Academic excellence is priority on the playing field. We are very proud of our Lady Tigers, and we're looking forward to more academic achievements during the years to come."
