TSU president seeks to build legacy

Lane, has his sights set on initiating profound change at TSU, starting with meeting the educational goals that will guide much of the upcoming state legislative session. “We’re working to bring about a new TSU,” Lane said in a meeting with members of Houston’s Black press. “I’m not here to retire, or to sit back and collect checks. I’m here to create a legacy.” That legacy includes TSU being the lead institution helping the state to accomplish its new 60 by 30 plan, where 60 percent of Texas’ college-aged students earn a college degree or certificate by 2030.
