This Thursday: President of General Mills Snack Division Speaks to Students & Public

NOTE: Free and open to the public. Alabama State University will host a presentation to its students and the public with a keynote address by Anton Vincent, president of the General Mills Snacks division, who is responsible for the growth of some of America’s favorite snack brands including Nature Valley granola bars, Betty Crocker fruit-flavored snacks and Chex Mix. The event will take place on Thursday (Sept. 22) at 10 a.m. in the ASU Hardy Student Center theatre (on its second floor) and it's free and open to the public. It is sponsored by ASU's Center for Innovative Educational Practices & Services and ASU's First-Year Programs & Services Office. The event is free and open to the public! This is part of a program sponsored by ASU whose purpose is to expose its students to positive role models who are successful in business, athletics, the arts and elsewhere; so they may hear, see and question them in an effort to follow in their footsteps of success. ABOUT OUR SPEAKER Anton Vincent has been the president of the General Mills' Snack division since 2014. His responsibility includes leadership over such General Mills' products (brands) as Chex Mix, Nature Valley granola bars, Bugles corn snacks, Gardetto’s snack mix, Betty Crocker's wide range of fruit-flavored snack choices; Annie's, one of the newest addition to its snack products lineup, and other products. Previously, Vincent led General Mills’ Frozen Foods division where he was responsible for brands that include Green Giant, Pillsbury and Totino’s. He assumed that role in 2012. A corporate officer since 2006, he became a division president in 2010. Among his other roles, Vincent was president of the company's Baking division, where he was responsible for brands such as Betty Crocker dessert mixes, Bisquick and Gold Medal flour. During the 2001 acquisition of The Pillsbury Company, Vincent was a key member of the mergers and acquisitions team.
