FAMU scientist earns gold medal for local society

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on October 13, 2016 The Tallahassee Scientific Society awarded its Gold Medal Award Wednesday to Henry Neal Williams, marking the first time a Florida A&M University scientist has received the honor. Williams, a professor and researcher in FAMU’s School of the Environment, is considered a leading expert on predatory bacteria. His research focuses on predatory bacteria’s use as an antibiotic agent to fight human bacteria pathogens. In July, Williams was appointed by the American Society for Microbiology as a distinguished lecturer to promote and advance the microbial sciences. That appointment makes FAMU the first historically black college or university to have a full-time faculty member included in the ranks. More: http://www.tallahassee.com/story/news/2016...
