Harris-Stowe State University invites alumni, students, faculty and staff to join in the celebration of Homecoming 2016. This year’s theme is “A Different World Part II” and kicks off with the No. 1 Hip-Hop morning show featuring nationally renowned comedian Rickey Smiley on Monday, October 24, 5-9 a.m. From 9 – 10 a.m. a lively pep rally will take place in the Emerson Gym, featuring the Honeycomb dance troop, Hornets drumline, cheer squad and scores of Hornets alumni, students and supporters.

The highlight of the Homecoming celebration is the Harris-Stowe basketball games. The women’s basketball team takes on Cardinal Stritch University at noon and the men’s basketball game versus Campbellsville University takes place at 2 p.m. in the Emerson Gymnasium on Saturday, Oct. 29. Hornets fans can participate in the Presidential Tailgate in the Emerson Parking Lot beginning at 9 a.m.

Other highlights of this year’s Homecoming commemoration include a concert on Saturday, October 29, featuring rappers 2 Chainz, Lil Bibby and G Herbo with special performances by TBeats Entertainment Recording Artists: Kingpin, Tony Marazono and Gabbii. The Homecoming concert, hosted by 104.1’s Shorty Da Prince with music by DJ Tab, begins at 10 p.m. in the Emerson Gymnasium. Tickets are $40 in advance and $60 at the door. Guests must be at least 17 and identification is required.



All members and supporters of the Divine Nine are invited to support the Greek Step Show on Thursday, October 27 at 6 p.m. in the Main Auditorium in the Henry Givens Building on the Harris-Stowe campus. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Attendees must show a valid photo ID. On Friday, October 28, the Harris-Stowe Student Government Association hosts the SGA Undergraduate party at 10 p.m. in the Emerson Gymnasium. Tickets are $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Attendees must by 17 years or older and must show a valid photo ID.
