Posted By: How May I Help You NC on January 19, 2017 Hometown: Belzoni, MS Year in School: Senior Major/Minor: Biology/Chemistry Expected Graduation: 2017 Extracurricular Activities: Student Government Association, Valley Trailblazers, Women in Science and Technology, Early Monitoring Alert Program tutor, International Studies Leisure Activities: Playing chess, dancing, traveling Career Goals: Attend a physical therapy graduate program and become a Doctor of Physical Therapy or teach Biology in a rural area What is your most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen?: My most memorable contribution as a Campus Queen was hosting the first ever girl conference in my hometown entitled "Queenin': I AM. I CAN. I WILL" I collaborated with health professionals and mothers who overcame teen pregnancy from our area and collectively we empowered young girls aged 12-18. Our main lesson was regardless of situations, circumstances, and stereotypes of being from the Mississippi Delta, they could overcome any obstacle in life. Too often I hear that I show that it does not matter where you come from or what college you attend, it is all about how you perform once you arrive. I figured what better way to give back than to go back along with other graduates from my high school and give tips to younger generations on how to excel beyond the Delta walls.
