Class of 2006!!!

Posted By: Ashley Ray on February 09, 2006

Yes! I finally made it, well at least that's what I tell myself every morning when I wake up, but I haven't made it all the way, atleast not yet. I am a high school senior. I will be attending Morehead State University in the fall but my DREAM is to attend a HBCU. At the beginning of my junior year of high school, my DREAM school was Clark Atlanta but that was because the previous year I had visited the amazing city of Atlanta and I loved the atmosphere so much I wanted to go to school down there. Then last spring break I went to Florida with my friend and I wanted to go to Florida A&M so badly.

I knew I wanted to attend a HBCU because my sophomore year I was the Captain of the band dance team and I like dancing so much, then when I saw Drumline I lost my mind! That was all that I wanted to do. I'm kind of upset because I know I'm not going to get that same experience at Morehead that I would get at an HBCU, that's why I'm thinking about transferring to Tennessee State (my other DREAM school) my sophomore year of college. Does that sound like a good plan? Anyways I'm so stressed right now. I didn't know senior year of high scool was so complicated and expensive. Man, howcome no one ever told me that senior year was a headache? now don't get me wrong it's fun, shoot it's the best time in your life or atleast to me b/c I haven't experienced any other aspects of life yet. My journey is just beginning.
