Morehouse College Ranked Near Top Third Of Private Institutions For Scholarship Dollars

Morehouse College Ranked Near Top Third Of Private Institutions For Scholarship Dollars
Posted By: How May I Help You NC on March 20, 2017

Morehouse College was recently ranked near the top third of private colleges at which students earn the most scholarship dollars, according to an analysis by Peterson’s Financial Aid Data for 2015.

The list of 250 schools was developed by determining the average scholarship per undergraduate student, and then ranking colleges based on that figure. Colleges that were ranked first on the list had higher levels of average scholarship aid per undergraduate student recipient.

Morehouse was ranked at No. 96 on the "Top 250 Private Colleges Where You Can Win the Most Scholarships" list. The Morehouse’s average scholarship aid amount was $555.83.

Conception Seminary College was No. 1 with an average aid amount of $20,238.91 per undergraduate student. Others on the list included: Talladega College at No. 3 with an average aid amount of $7,814.62; Duke University at No.

38 with an average aid amount of $854.60: Tuskegee University at No. 43 with an average aid amount of $803.91; and Harvard University at No. 52 with an average aid amount of $747.78.

“This study is a big deal,” Drew Cloud, a spokesman for The Student Loan Report, said in a statement. “Scholarships are extremely important for students who wish to avoid student loans, which can cause problems for students down the road. The fact that scholarship winners at Morehouse College are earning so much is a testament to the school environment as well as proactivity of its student body. Whether it is a school provided or third-party scholarship, your students are doing it right.”
