Motion Designer, Video Graphics

As part of the MLS Digital video team, the Motion Designer will create and execute original video-based graphic elements and accompanying digital assets.

The designer will work closely with the MLS brand team to maintain brand integrity in video content published to MLS owned and operator channels and partner channels, such as ESPN, Univision, Fox and more.

• Develop and execute artwork, motion graphics supporting materials for new and existing video programming
• Design and animate custom show opens, lower thirds and transitions
• Retouch photos
• Design custom thumbnails, backgrounds and cover photos
• Create efficient After Effects templates
• Manage workflow and project deadlines
• Mentor producer-editors in utilizing motion graphics
• Present plans and artistic concepts in an organized and effective manner

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere
• Ability to track and composite footage (Mocha // AE)
• Working knowledge of Cinema 4d
• Experience creating graphics packages for Chyron and other live graphics applications
• Strong video codec and file format knowledge
• Ability to cleanly chroma key backgrounds and work with virtual sets
• Creative mindset and great design sense
• Superior organization, project management skills and attention to detail
• High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity and compliance
• Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, team environment
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate, both written and verbally
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook

• Detail-oriented with the ability to multi-task and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
• Ability to travel and to work non-traditional hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

 Desired Skills

• Experience working with and managing freelance designers
• Print and sound design experience
• Video editing experience
• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite
• Knowledge of the Spanish Language (business proficiency)
• Knowledge of the sport of soccer

 Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Art, or a related field
• 3-5+ years of experience at a digital studio or agency
