Summer Intern-Events

• MLS Events Department Support
• Provide support leading up to, during and after events and/or meetings
• Manage banner inventory, requests, and upkeep
• Assist with ticket inventory management
• Assist with hospitality requests for summer events
• General admin support and management

• 2017 MLS All-Star Game presented by Target (Chicago, IL)

  • Pre-Event
    • Manage selection of local/event interns including sourcing, interviewing, and travel coordination
    • Run invite RSVP reports and process invite-related data against tight deadlines
    • Manage creative process.
      
      
      
      Submit requests, maintain creative grid, work with design team to ensure requirements and deadlines are met
    • Collect and format product orders for All-Star (Heineken, Coca-Cola, AdvoCare, Kellogg’s, etc.)
    • Assist with ticket inventory management and distribution
    • Assist with general event administration
    • Promptly update and manage all even documents (private schedule, event overview, MLSsoccer.com/all-star schedule information, planning meeting notes, etc.)
    • Coordinate shipping and receiving process for internal departments, including tracking
   
  • Onsite
    • Oversee general Event administration
      • Assist with distribution of meeting signage and preparation for next day’s meetings
      • Assist with daily prep and restock of VIP Lounge supplies and needs
      • Assist with on-site support of hospitality dinners for various MLS departments
      • Manage last minute creative requests and on-site printing with FedEx and local vendors
      • Responsible for full-inventory of all incoming event-related shipments to host hotel and event venues
    • On-site management of local/event interns
      • Create daily schedules/communication of assignments and tasks
      • Ensure interns are reimbursed for onsite expenses
      • Secure accommodations for group on site
      • Ensure event interns have a positive event experience
    • Assist with daily prep and restock of VIP Lounge supplies and needs
    • Be an ambassador of Major League Soccer and a positive representation of the MLS Events department
   
  • Post Event
    • Invoice collection, payment processing, and budget reconciliation for applicable areas
    • Pull and inventory event photos and recap information
    • Oversee all inbound shipments and inventory all Events department items returned to storage

   

Experience

• Experience in hospitality management or event planning is preferred

• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects in busy environment

• Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary, with strong presentation skills a plus
• Must have superior customer service skills
• Capable of working proactively with multiple personalities to achieve results
• Availability to travel to the 2017 MLS All-Star Game in Chicago (Wednesday, July 26^th - Friday, August 4^th)
• Availability to work out of MLS League Office (NYC)
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when necessary
• PC Savvy: Microsoft Office Suite

Education

• 4-year college degree or working toward degree
