Each are making ASU history - the College's Theatre Department is graduating the largest class in its history at this year's Spring Commencement Exercise in May, as well as graduating the first-ever students in the college's history to earn a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree in Dance. The dancers are also the first-ever to graduate from a historic black college or university (HBCU) in the U.S. On Friday (April 7), the BFA seniors will present their dance projects, titled “HAPPENINGS: The Way We See It,” which will be performed at 6 p.m. at the ASU Leila Barlow Theatre. The University's Theatre seniors will perform their acclaimed "One Act Play Festival," on April 17 - 20, at 6 p.m. at the Lelia Barlow Theatre. Each has been working over the past few weeks to shape their individual 20-minute performances, which are part of the event. Admission is free, but seating is limited. The public is invited to share in all of the students’ performances. If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
