We Need Even More Good People!
|
Posted By: HBCU CONNECT on April 12, 2017 We just wrapped up our National Business Meeting (NBM) in St. Louis where we shared our 2016 results. The overall message was that we had a very good year. Like most years, we talked a lot about volume growth. Employees are proud of these results; most companies cannot point to the type of consistent track record that Dot has enjoyed! This is proof that our customers see value in what we do and that they continue to put more and more trust in our services each year. While this type of growth is a good thing, it still presents challenges. To handle it in a quality manner, we have to increase our capacity on multiple fronts, such as equipment, facilities, parking and, most importantly, people. I say these are good problems to have. Nonetheless, they still require us to properly plan and make necessary investments in our business. The most critical investment we will make to manage growth is in our people. We do have specific individuals in our business who spend most of their time recruiting, and we invest in advertising to help us get the word out. But it is everyone’s job to bring in new talent! We have a great story to tell prospective employees and need everyone’s help telling it. Our video “Everyone Matters” offer a personal touch to this story that brings a level of credibility that no advertisement could ever deliver. We need more people just like you as well as people that are different from you. We have to cast a wider net to cover all of our people needs, and we will be a better company for it. Growth won’t continue to happen without this. Now, for your homework assignment. Please watch the video called “Everyone Matters” and then find your next career at Dot Foods. This does an excellent job representing our culture and involves multiple employees telling their story about working at Dot. I can’t think of a better way to introduce our company to you, a prospective employee, and would encourage you to forward on this link to your friends and family. Another video I would like you to watch is called “Kick the Dust Up.” It shows some exciting things we are doing from a facility standpoint to help manage our growth. Both videos can be found on our Dot Foods Showcase page http://hbcuconnect.com/cgi-bin/jobs/employ...
