Posted By: How May I Help You NC on April 26, 2017 The Wiley College baseball team had no answer for No. 13 Texas Wesleyan's pitchers in 5-0 and 9-0 losses Tuesday. The Wildcats (8-37) recorded two hits in each game – all singles. Luis Santiago (FR/Salinas, Puerto, Rico) and Oswaldo Palacios (SR/Houston, Texas) got base hits in the first game. Santiago and Eloy Reyna III (SO/Houston, Texas) singled in Game 2. Joe Champion (JR/Brownsville, Texas) pitched a complete game. He held the Rams scoreless through the first four innings. He allowed five runs to score in the fifth on a wild pitch, single and three-run home run. He walked one and struck out one. Darian Fleming (SO/Beaumont, Texas) pitched in the second game and struggled to find the strike zone as he gave up six walks in five innings. The Rams tagged Fleming for nine runs (seven earned) on 13 hits. Austin Rotramel (FR/Plano, Texas) pitched the last inning. Wiley College will close out the season with a three-game series against Huston-Tillotson University. It will also be the final three games for Huston-Tillotson, which was swept by University of Houston-Victoria.
