Johnson C. Smith University head basketball coach and athletics director Stephen Joyner, Sr. will be honored at the 2017 HBCU Living Legends Scholarship Gala on August 26, 2017 at the Grand Pavilion Ballroom at the Embassy Suites in downtown Winston-Salem, N.C.

Entering his 31st season at the helm of the JCSU men's basketball program and Winston-Salem native, Joyner will be one of three honorees from JCSU, joining retired U.S. Representative Eva Clayton and Fred "Curly" Neal of the legendary Harlem Globetrotters.

The HBCU Scholarship Gala is a community-based initiative that celebrates the impact and importance of the 11 HBCU's in North Carolina. The purpose of the initiative is to raise money for scholarships for deserving students at each institution and to honor the achievements of the alumni of each school.

Tickets to the gala are available by visiting www.hbculivinglegends.com or by clicking here. Tickets are $100 per seat or $1,000 per table of 10 seats. The deadline for reserving a table is July 15th and must be secured online.
