United Negro College Fund Raises $100,000 in Support of Bethune-Cookman University Spring 2017 Graduates

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on May 22, 2017 FEATURED Content This year the UNCF awarded B-CU $100,000 to provide graduating seniors the opportunity to graduate with a zero account balance so that they could advance into the workforce without an outstanding balance with the university. Last week nearly 800 family and friends shared their excitement as 374 students received their degrees from Bethune-Cookman University at the Ocean Center in Daytona Beach. B-CU’s Department of Institutional Advancement through the Office of Annual Giving endorsed the “Promise to the Future” campaign, challenging university alumni, faculty and staff to give back. President Jackson commends the University participants for being dedicated to giving B-CU students ample resources and financial support. “Because of the continual gifts from faculty, staff and proud alumni, we will send our graduates into their careers with a zero account balance with the university, which many students may not have been able to adequately pay their balance in a short span of time,” Dr. Jackson said.
