NCCU Baseball Alumni Triplett Signs Pro Contract

Posted By: How May I Help You NC on June 07, 2017 Former North Carolina Central University baseball first baseman Christian Triplett (Wilkesboro, N.C.) joins a growing list of Eagles in the professional ranks as he has signed a contract to play for the Tucson Saguaros of the Pecos League. Triplett finished his NCCU career as one of the top power hitters in the modern era as he is within the top-three in the modern era record books with 19 home runs, 89 RBI, and 34 doubles in his four seasons. He's also within the career top-10 with 131 hits and 222 total bases, and was a lineup fixture with 169 games played and 160 starts. Triplett has started well with the Saguaros, with eight hits, three RBI and six runs scored in his first 11 games. The Saguaros are located in Tucson, Arizona and participate in the 12-team Pecos League, which began play in 2011.
