This is an opportunity for an innovative and visionary leader within nursing education to play a pivotal role in creating the overall vision and mission for a nursing program intended to increase diversity in the nursing workforce. Warner Pacific College (WPC) is dedicated to providing students from diverse backgrounds with an education that prepares them to engage actively in a constantly changing world. In Fall 2016, over 57% of WPC’s traditional students were racially or ethnically diverse. WPC is the only four year institution in Oregon to be listed as an Emerging Hispanic Service Institution and expects to be designated as a Hispanic Servicing Institution in 2018. Reporting to the VP/Academic Affairs, the Dean of Nursing will take a leadership role in fostering a positive and productive work environment that promotes excellence in teaching, practice and scholarship. The Dean of Nursing will be a person of high integrity, who is courageous and a risk taker, able to build coalitions and work collaboratively. Requirements include a master’s degree in nursing; a doctorate in nursing, higher education, and/or administration is preferred; (if the doctorate is not in nursing, a master’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university is required); minimum of five years of teaching experience in undergraduate nursing curriculum/education administration; three years of experience in undergraduate nursing program administration; eligibility to obtain RN licensure in Oregon.
