In July 2012, SHECP was formally established as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit consortium, with the singular goal of expanding and improving the sustained, interdisciplinary study of poverty at colleges and universities in the United States. SHECP seeks a mission-driven Executive Director. The Executive Director will join SHECP at an important moment in its history. To support the critical work of SHECP, the successful candidate will be an energetic, entrepreneurial leader and fundraiser who will further inspire the SHECP Council and its Governing Board. The Executive Director will be responsible for the ongoing development, refinement, and implementation of the strategic plan to realize the fundraising goals, operational plan, and ambitions of SHECP. The Executive Director will oversee a staff of three direct reports – Academic Director, Director of Development, and Assistant Director and Coordinator of Internships – and will work to develop work plans that align with the strategic plan and resources. S/he will further enhance the Mission, plan strategically, advocate passionately, inspire historic growth and philanthropy, and lead effectively. The Executive Director will be responsible for creating a sustainable plan which increases resources, visibility of the consortium, and expands the offerings available for students. The ideal candidate will be comfortable navigating higher education, capable of strong strategic leadership, and fostering and increasing strategic relationships with key donors.
