The initial set of 3 hires will be in the areas of: -- Experimental High Energy Physics, focusing on the CMS upgrade and exploring connections to machine learning http://apply.interfolio.com/43309 -- Particle Theory, emphasizing quantum field theory and interactions with the broader scientific community at CMU http://apply.interfolio.com/43310 -- Experimental Condensed Matter Physics, focusing on optical phenomena or other areas that complement the quantum electronics group http://apply.interfolio.com/42737 The department is especially interested in candidates who, through their research, teaching, and/or service will contribute to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.
