Posted By: How May I Help You NC on September 13, 2017 The University of Northern Iowa seeks an Associate Dean for the College of Education to provide leadership for all undergraduate programs, academic advising, recruitment initiatives and student support services, and curricular and assessment process. Essential duties and responsibilities include: lead all undergraduate programs in the College and oversee the offices of Academic Advising and Teacher Education; administration of awarding process for scholarship program; coordinate process for all student and program issues related to pre-service teacher education, as well as other undergraduate programs; advise and guide the College in meeting requirements and annual reporting (e.g., student learning outcomes), oversee curricular changes for undergraduate programs and writing program reports, and lead self-study and on-site visit preparation for accreditations in collaboration with the Coordinator of Elementary Education and Director of Assessment, as appropriate; serve as the point person for undergraduate university initiatives including serving on university-wide committees; building and maintaining relationships with key education stakeholders; serve as liaison on teacher education to the State Department of Education; attend teacher and professional education and licensure meetings in Des Moines as needed; maintain knowledge of current, relevant professional standards in teacher education; represent Dean and take on responsibilities in Dean's absence, and other duties as assigned. The faculty member is also expected to teach, conduct research, and perform service activities within their field of study.
