Area High School Students Discover Alabama State University for Fall Connection Day!

WHEN: Saturday (Sept. 23) from Noon - 6 p.m.
WHERE: Register @ ASU's Hardy Student Center, second-floor Ballroom.

Alabama State University is hosting THIS Saturday (from noon until 6 p.m.) its Discover ASU - Fall Connection Day, which is open to all high school and college transfer students (and their parents or guardians) who want to discover what ASU is all about concerning their college education.

SATURDAY'S REGISTRATION IS @ NOON
It all begins at noon on Saturday at ASU with all of those wishing to attend the day's events going to the University's Hardy Student Center Ballroom (near the Dunn-Oliver Acadome) on its second-floor for registration - or register online at www.alasu.edu/connect

During registration, the Mighty Marching Hornets Band and our University Cheerleaders will greet guests as they gather to collect pertinent University information concerning their desire to attend college and discover all the great events taking place on Saturday just for them. Also, the SOS Leaders, student ambassadors and Student Government Association leaders will be on hand to welcome them to ASU, as well.

ONSITE ADMISSION TO ASU SATURDAY
High school seniors and college transfer students who qualify for admission and bring their academic transcripts and SAT or ACT score reports, may be offered on-site admission to Alabama State University during registration on Saturday.

The day's program of events is as follows:
WELCOME PROGRAM (From 1 – 2 p.m.) @ ASU STUDENT CENTER BALLROOM
Students and parents will learn more about ASU from our University President, Enrollment Management staff, Miss Alabama State University, the Student Government Association President and its academic deans. Our guests will also experience the talents of ASU students from the College of Visual and Performing Arts. This portion of the program provides prospective students and their parents with an informative, yet entertaining, overview of the different and exciting aspects of academic and student life at ASU.



ACADEMIC & SUPPORT SERVICES FAIR or CAMPUS TOUR (From 2 – 3 p.m.) @ ASU ACADEMIC MALL
High school seniors, college transfer students and their guests will have the opportunity to inquire about and visit the various Alabama State University academic programs and engage with college deans and department heads of our more than 53 academic program offerings from 2 - 3 p.m..
Also at 2 p.m., parents and guardians of seniors will meet with key administrators to learn more about admissions, scholarships, financial aid, student accounts, first year experiences, housing and residential life, the office of Technology Services, our Student Health office, and the ASU Police Department. This event will be held at the University’s Academic Mall.

During this time, high school underclassmen will be given a campus tour and visit the various student support tables in the ASU Hardy Student Center.

YARD FEST (FROM 4 – 5 p.m.) @ THE HARDY STUDENT CENTER'S AMPHITHEATRE
All attendees on Saturday will participate in the Connection Day Yard Fest, which is located at the ASU Hardy Student Center outdoor Amphitheater. The Yard Fest will feature music, give-a-ways and performances by ASU's Greek organizations.

TAILGATE (FROM 5 – 6 p.m.)
Our guests are encouraged to attend the Connection Day Tailgate Party with food, fun and lots of ASU pride!

ASU FOOTBALL GAME KICK-OFF @ 7 p.m.
Attendees may attend Saturday's ASU football game with its scheduled kick-off at the ASU Football Stadium at 7 p.m. Check for details about this when you register on Saturday morning.
