To expose teens to various career options, members of our Teen Centers visited Oakwood University's Media Center last week. Broadcast Journalism students shared information on the field, then helped the teens create a mock talk show and a commercial. The teens with no interest in acting learned how to operate the cameras and the production board. The teens had an amazing time producing their show while learning about the field of broadcasting. Dr. Victoria Joiner, assistant professor of Communication, and her students poured into the lives of approximately 35 young visitors.
